Expedition 35 - 23rd October 1999
Camus Torsa to Tarbert

A good day for a walk, although it was still fairly wet in parts. The explorers were: Barnaby, John Donaldson, Katy and Sally plus Mike, Sandra and Silvia.

The expedition was not one but three! We started with a tour of the Refollin forestry block, looking at some lazy beds and an old wall. Then we made a quick visit to Camus Torsa, looking at several interesting trees and finally a trek up the hill to the old village of Tarbert to see the old houses and a place where a soldier had fired a machine gun many years ago.

The Pictures
John Donaldson drew a picture of the hillside with a tree and several of the machine gun cartridges on the ground. Katy drew one of the Tarbert cottages and a black beetle we found in the woods. Barnaby drew the old road through the Refollin wood, showing two ferns growing by the road. Sally drew a mysterious picture of a stream with trees winding up a hill.
