The hundredth John Dye Expedition took place on November 15th 2004
and the number continues to increase.
When John started his Expeditions there was no way of predicting
how popular they would become, or what enthusiastic interest they
would arouse in the Explorers, as they've become known. The seventh
Expedition was recorded by John, and he started keeping regular
records with the ninth Expedition.
Over the now-traditional post-expedition tea in the Blue Parrot
(Mave's Pantry), Acharacle, the Explorers often produce sketches
and drawings of the day's events - and many of these are included
in the Expeditions recorded on the pages below. Another tradition
during the walk is the Tunnoch's Wafer ceremony, when John produces
an inexhaustible supply of Tunnoch's Caramel Wafers from his leather
gunny bag - it's worth going on a walk just for this!
